Other Cards as Sympathy Cards

Sometimes a subtle message is more comforting

When people purchase feline cards and gift items from me intending to use them as sympathy gifts for a friend or family member they often choose a more fine art image that clearly looks like the feline who is grieved but without a sympathetic message so the recipient can just enjoy the image and not cry over the sentiment.

And sometimes they choose a subject that doesn’t look just like the feline who is grieved, but similar, depicted with a loose or less than photorealistic style, to soften the impact and just recognize the loss.

I’ve created many paintings of my own cats, photorealistic portraits and somewhat looser styles of formal paintings as well as informal daily sketches in every media from pencil to oil pastel. I’ve printed these images as cards and used them on my handmade gift items and I’ve found that people choose from these images as less formal sympathy messages.

Greeting cards, larger rectangular 5″ x 7″ and square cards, are printed on 100# cover. Note cards, smaller and ranging in size from 4.25″ x 5.5″ (A2) to 4″ x 6.25″ (A6) are printed on a variety of paper stocks to match the original artwork and include a matching envelope, packed in a resealable sleeve.
